Whatever your taste or whatever you are looking for, you will find it along the Vegas Strip. Some of the best stars in the world can be found in Las Vegas performances and they are sure to entertain. Here are five must see shows in Las Vegas that you will be glad you didn’t miss.

Elton John Las Vegas

Elton John -Grammy award winner Elton John can be found performing at Caesars Palace for the next three years. You will find him playing songs such as “Bennie and the Jets” and “Candle in the Wind”. Elton John is one of the world’s greatest performers and his show is definitely worth seeing.

Blue Man Group -Blue Man Group will have you wiggling in your seats. The three blue faced performers will wow you with their theatrics!  Their percussion renditions on anything from PVC pipes to trash can’s will have you beating out rhythms on any and everything after the show. This is an excellent show for adults as well as younger members of the family.

The Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soliel - Celebrating the classic music of the Beatles, Cirque du Soliel creates unique performances that will sooth the soul. The Grammy award winning soundtrack for this show is amazing.

Phantom of the Opera -Rated one of the best shows in Las Vegas, you will be moved and never forget this must see performance.

Viva Elvis -What would Las Vegas be without an Elvis show? Cirque du Soleil does it again with this amazing performance showcasing the life and music of Elvis Presley. This is a unique performance that celebrates a true Las Vegas legend.

Las Vegas has a lot to offer to guests of all ages. Whether you are interest is staying on the Vegas Strip or if a day trip a little further is an option, there is plenty to do. The weather in Las Vegas is mild year round and makes for the perfect vacation spot most any time of year. Here are some alternatives to the many casinos that Las Vegas has to offer.

If that is not your thing, Blue Man Group puts on a great show, as well as Penn and Teller. Many big named performers can be found along the Vegas Strip and big name productions such as The Lion King. And Cirque du Soleil is a stunning performance sure to entertain the entire family.

Hotel Offerings -Most of the hotels along the Vegas Strip offer great ways to entertain. Circus Circus has the world’s largest permanent circus, Motion Rides and the Adventure Dome. The Venetian has Gondola Rides and Shops along the Grand Canal. Caesars Palace has the Fall of Atlantic Aquarium and great shopping. Bellagio has an amazing conservatory and the Gallery of Fine Arts, an amazing collection of some of the world’s masterpieces.

Nightclubs -The nightlife is Las Vegas is really exciting. Home to some of the hottest nightclubs, you can live it up like a rock star. Some of the best nightclubs that you will find in Las Vegas are Voo Doo at Rio, Tao at The Venetian and Haze at Aria.

Nearby Attractions -If leaving the Vegas Strip is an option there are some great attractions nearby. The best and a must see is the Grand Canyon, and it really is grand. Hoover Dam is another nearby trip and an impressive sight. There are bus and helicopter tours offered for both of these places as well as the Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas is a really fun place to visit; it’s like an amusement park for adults. And believe it or not Las Vegas is the home to many roller coasters and amusement rides. Your trip will take you around the world in a matter of blocks, so be prepared to see a lot, walk a lot and probably sleep a little. Here are a few items that you will want to remember when packing for your Las Vegas trip.

Mild to Warm Weather Clothing - Depending on the time of year you are visiting Las Vegas mostly the temperatures are warm to hot. But during the winter you will need to bring a layer or two and the evenings can cool down considerably year round.

Casual Clothing - Casual clothing is accepted any and everywhere in Las Vegas. Although there is a lot of glitz and glamour, you can wear whatever. Although you may want to throw in a rocking pair of sunglasses and something with a little shine to it.

Sun Preparation - If you are going out for a walking tour during the day you will want to be prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, and/or a sun hat. The sun and heat can be pretty intense during the day.

Comfy Shoes - There is lots of walking to be done in Las Vegas and many of the hotels and casinos are must sees. In just a short walk you can be by the Statue of Liberty and then off to the Eiffel Tower.

Camera - You will definitely be glad to have your camera with you, especially if this is your first trip to Las Vegas. There is so much to see and some really impressive sights that you will want to capture.

The Beatles Cirque Du Soleil: “LOVE”

The Beatles Love

You don’t have to go to Vegas to get some of the experience of “Love” because there is a CD version of the soundtrack available along with a documentary DVD (“All Together Now”) on the making of the show.

The Album

Love contains the music used in the show. It’s a “mash-up” version of The Beatles songs spanning their whole career. It includes some of their most well known hit songs that just about everyone on earth can sing along with as well as lesser known songs that only serious Beatles fans know.

Often it’s not just one song playing at once, but a combination of different songs “mashed” together in new interesting ways. For example track #14 includes a mix of “Tomorrow Never Knows” and “Within You Without You” mostly focusing on the vocals from “Within You Without You” combined with the hypnotic drum beat of “Tomorrow Never Knows” (but that’s really putting it too simply, there is music from both tracks included and it starts off with a vocal sample from “Tomorrow Never Knows.”)
